My name is Carmen Lorente and I was born in Seville, I hold a graduate degree in kindergarten education and I have completed the Waldorf teachers training. Waldorf Education came to me after finishing my university studies and travelling to Germany when I was 22 years old. In Germany, I had the opportunity to get to know two Waldorf Schools of which I fell in love with and it was then when I found true sense to education.
Once I was back in Spain, I began my training in Waldorf Pedagogy and completed my studies three years later. During my first year of training, I did practice lessons at a school in Málaga a province set in the south of Spain, Andalusia. I lived 4 months with a family there it helped me to deepen into the source not only of the pedagogy in its living sense but also its importance from the point of view of the families at their homes. I continued my practice lessons at Waldorf Sevilla Girasol supporting the beginning of this new Waldorf School initiative in Seville as an assistant in the classroom. During my second year of training, I went back to the same school in Málaga and worked as an assistant there and finally one year later I came back to Seville and took the class teacher position of a kindergarten classroom for three years by now.
Every single year lived within this pedagogy makes me aware of the importance that respect holds towards the self of the child and it also helps me see their talents to be materialized in this world.
It fills me with enthusiasm and joy to be part of this beautiful social community and this way of life that gives away so many good things to teachers such as the conquest of happiness of children.
