My name is Silvia. I hold a degree in Physical education, I am an educator and a Waldorf teacher about to culminate my studies with a specialization in Primary Education. I am a scout at heart, a mother, an artisan, and a curious person in constant learning.
My love for childhood grew up as a child during camps and weekly meetings with my Scout group. In those moments I was just a spectator and recipient of selfless love and dedication of people who gave their very best at every single moment so they could leave this place a better place as they have found it. In my formal education, I discovered my true love for nature, and I began to fill myself with human values as well as abilities that formal education failed to instill.
That is why I wanted to devote myself to education and provide my grand of sand for a better world. I began my studies in education and later as an educator. This training was not enough for I was looking for a wider knowledge of man, I was looking for a pedagogy which respected the rhythms of each one of the children, I just wanted to work at a school where nature and the rhythms of life were taken into consideration for better growth of the self.
And in 2013 I found Waldorf Pedagogy and I found my school: Waldorf “la Alpujarra” School, where I began to discover Anthroposophy as a way of self-knowledge and way of life. After some years the universe took me to a new adventure in Tenerife, island where I worked at the Waldorf “Lucero”school. A year later my best teacher came to my life, my daughter, reason why I decided to take some time off school so that with love, patience, time and dedication I could accompany the challenge that means her everyday life.
In this time,I set up a mother by day project at “El Cubil” and in so doing balance my family and professional life in a much healthier way.
Today, I am at Waldorf International School “Girasol” in Seville where with great calling, joy, serenity, patience and fascination a devote myself to this marvelous job, leaving a footprint that an alternative educational and social paradigm based on love, respect and freedom is possible.
“True self knowledge is only dispensed to man when he is interested in others with love;
Only man attains true knowledge of the world when he tries to know his own being”.
